Inspired by Kike, a wild cheetah I filmed in Kenya some 20 years ago, this sculpture recalls a fleeting moment of stillness before movement. Having spent time observing her, I became interested not in speed or spectacle, but in the quiet individuality that existed between those moments - poised yet still. The work asks us to encounter her simply as herself.
