Full Membership
Full Membership is open to ASSOCIATE MEMBERS and is BY INVITATION ONLY.
- To qualify for Full membership you must have been an Associate Member for a year
- Have exhibited with SOFA
- Applicants must be 18 years or over.
The selection committee will view the work of associate members during the society’s annual show. Associate members may then be invited to become full members or may be asked to submit further work for consideration by the selection committee.
What The Selection Committee Is Looking For
Paintings in any medium, drawings, etchings etc are all admissible. Sculptures and other 3-D work are also admissible.
The Selection Committee will be looking for originality, professional use of the medium, consistency, composition, drawing and representation of the cat (at least one full figure, not just portraits please). There should not be any direct copying from commercially printed sources e.g. photographs and paintings in books, these should be for reference only.
It is vitally important to be aware of copyright.

Full Members are expected to support the Society by taking part in the Annual Exhibition.
Online Gallery & Shop
Full Members Online Gallery
Full members may be invited to submit original pieces for sale in the members online gallery and shop. To qualify members will need to pack and ship their work to a customer and provide the images and information the gallery requires.
The Print Shop
Full members may be invited to submit limited edition or open edition prints for the print section of the online shop.
Exhibitions
Invitations will be sent to full and associate members to enter an exhibition. You must be a fully paid up member to exhibit.
Online Exhibitions: To enter, your work must be for sale and you need to be able to pack and ship your sales to the customer by a tracked shipping method.
Gallery Exhibitions: are open to all Members both Full and Associate. All works must be handed in in person. Paintings submitted to Galleries for consideration to be exhibited must be well mounted and framed, no metal frames please, and they should be strung ready for hanging using ‘D’ rings to prevent damage to other paintings. Badly presented work will be refused.
Overseas Members
Online exhibitions can be entered online. You must be able to pack and ship your work by a tracked method.
You will also be eligible to submit work for selection our physical gallery exhibitions.
However all works have to be handed in and collected, in person. We have no facility for accepting work by post. Our overseas members tend to have family or friends in the UK with whom they make these arrangements.
