Angel Cat

Animals are a huge part of my life and I have taken on many old and unwanted creatures over the years. This has meant many sad goodbyes when their time with me ended, and through going through the grieving process I realised how many of us feel deeply about pet loss. I am in the process of setting up a blog and some resources around grieving for animals to go on my website, and this drawing was inspired by my belief that our animal friends will be waiting for us at the end of our lives. I have had greetings cards made of this drawing and it is very popular with people who have lost cats. The drawing is done with a range of high lightfast coloured pencils on drafting film and is mounted ready for framing.

A coloured pencil painting by Susan Hammond.
