Shadowplay

This is a drawing of my cat Grace. We were in the front room one sunny afternoon, and I was struck by the colour in her eyes - they are normally a beautiful pale Eau de Nil colour (sounds posh, I know!) - but the sunlight seemed to bleach them further on this occasion and I just wanted to capture that paleness in them and contrast them with the dramatic looking shadow on her neck and chest.

A coloured pencil painting by Jennifer Graham.
