Jenny Alderton S.O.F.A.

Jenny Alderton

Jenny has always loved drawing yet it was only following a financial career in the City of London, when raising her family, that she was able to return to her initial passion and pick up her paints again. She delights in capturing the character of animals, both wild and domestic, and has for many years now specialised in painting cats, sketching from life, whenever possible, gathering as much information about their form, colour, diverse personalities and fascinating behaviour as possible. A pastellist, her paintings combine exquisite detail with the rich texture of fur. Jenny loves to paint the eyes - the window to the soul! Her interest in textiles, antiques and plants is often visible.

Jenny has exhibited in Galleries throughout the UK, undertaken private commissions and has work in collections worldwide. She has shown her work regularly at the Mall Galleries with the Society of Women Artists since 1993, becoming a member in 2002. As a member of the Society of Feline Artists, she has also regularly exhibited at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, London, where in 2004 her work won the Gallery Prize.
