Michelle Hawes studied at Southend College in Art and Design. She specialised in fashion design and buying then followed a successful career in Women's apparel for 37 years. Her passion for drawing and painting developed as a child and now having more time she concentrates solely on her art. She loves working in Oil and Watercolour.
Living in SW London near the beautiful River Thames and Richmond Park gives Michelle inspiration to create paintings which portray a strong sense of colour and form. Her love of landscape, flowers and animals are sensitively captured in her work. She has a particular love for cats as she has always owned them all her life and finds them adorable, especially to capture their personalities in her art.
Michelle is a member of Barnes Artists and has shown her work in many local exhibitions, and is also a member of the Society of Feline Artists. Michelle had an amazing opportunity to visit the Kalahari desert on an artist holiday painting the wild cats!
