Mother and two kittens sit in a moonlight window overlooking Porth Hellick and Sir Cloudesley Shovels first grave. Painted on the 300th anniversary of the great naval disaster when the Association and its fleet perished in bad weather on the Gilstone rock, Isles of Scilly. 2000 men drowned.

The Arum lillies are the funeral flowers and there is a legend about Sir Cloudesleys emerald ring being bitten off by an old lady who found his body here on Porth Hellick beach with his whippet beside him.The ring does exist and is in America.
