We're planning to host an exhibition of fantastic feline art in London in the Autumn of 2019, showing the work of more than 50 artists who paint cats both large and small.
So why are we raising funds for a London show? In 2018 the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, who held our annual show for the last 22 years, closed when the owners retired. So the society needs to find new ways to bring the best in feline art to the public. We want to raise the funds to host our own show in London and create a springboard for further regional shows in the future.
Hosting our own S.O.F.A. London show in 2019.
We’ll hire a gallery in an excellent Central London location and host the annual show. Several of our members have experience with hosting exhibitions so we have the skills to hang the show ourselves, staff the gallery during the run, sort out advertising, marketing and the invitation.
The Private View Of course there’ll be a private view to mark the opening of the show, opened by our patron David Grant MBE B Vet. Med. F.R.C.V.S and with plenty of time to see the work and socialise with the artists. We really hope you'll want to come along!
Although we are raising funds for the London show first, we’re are also planning regional shows around the UK in the future. We are always on the lookout for venues who are interested in hosting a S.O.F.A show.
How To Help
Have a look at our fundraising collection. S.O.F.A. members have donated some wonderful feline art that the society can sell to raise funds. All of these are selling for less than their normal price, so you get a bargain, and all the proceeds go to the exhibition fund.
Any work for sale in our shop or the gallery, that isn't part of the fundraising collection, will also donate 25% of the proceeds to the exhibition fund.
So please do shop with us and help us bring contemporary cat art to the Capital and beyond.
